Projects

With experience and expertise across the spectrum of creating, managing and maintaining outdoor spaces, Xyst has had a big impact on communities throughout New Zealand, Australia and Canada.

Feel free to browse through the case studies below to find out how we have helped council, local government and other people working in the public sector to find solutions for projects.

Southland District Council

Waitaki District Council
The purpose of the ERC plan is to ensure that Waitaki District Council (WDC): – has an appropriate set of responses to emergency events and hazards that may occur on parks and public open spaces; – is able to continue to provide essential services during and after events; and – minimises the impact of events on parks and park users.
Taupō District Council
Xyst provided sound technical, legal and procedural advice on what promised to be a contentious issue affecting a long standing activity in a strategic recreation reserve location on the Taupo Lakefront which enabled TDC to move forward with confidence.
Whangarei District Council
The review identified current open space provision, preferred provision levels of service for current and future open space and park provision, and acquisition and development requirements for additional park land to meet future community needs.
Yarra Ranges Council
The trail survey allowed the Yarra Rages Council to better understand how these trails were being used and by whom, what the user valued about the trails and what suggestions they had for change, and what the economic value of the trails are to the region.
Matamata-Piako District Council
This project was required to establish consistency in approach to streetscaping within and between communities in the Matamata-Piako District, and to provide robust guidelines for service delivery. Deliverables were incorporated into the review of the Open Space Strategy.
